The Dodgers in August were no-hit twice, the first team to suffer two no-hitters in the same month since the Reds in June 1971.
The Dodgers also lost three key players to hamstring injuries — Howie Kendrick, Yasiel Puig and Kiké Hernandez are all on the disabled list — one for each game they gained on San Francisco during the month.
Dodger Batter of August: Andre Ethier was on fire during the month, hitting .375/.420/.625, and the next three highest OPS in the month were all by the trio that were hurt by hamstring injuries.
Dodger Pitcher of August: Clayton Kershaw continued his red-hot stretch, allowing seven runs and six walks in his six starts, with 51 strikeouts in 45 innings.
August record: 15-12
104 runs scored (3.85 per game)
103 runs allowed (3.81 per game)
.504 pythagorean winning percentage (14-13)

Game of the Month: Things got weird on the final day of the month. Clayton kershaw was used as a pinch hitter, Chris Hatcher batted for himself and pitched three scoreless innings for the win, and Adrian Gonzalez hit a fly ball single with the bases loaded for a 14-inning walk-off win over the Giants.
Weirdest month: I defy you to find a stranger month than that of Joc Pederson in August. On on hand he was 6-for-50 (.120). The last two Dodgers with at least 50 at-bats in a month and no more than six hits were Luis Cruz (5-for-56) in April 2013 and Bill Buckner (6-for-50) in June 1975. But Pederson also walked 21 times for a .384 on-base percentage. The only other Dodger since 1914 with at least 20 walks and single-digit hits in a month was Rube Bressler (eight hits, 20 walks) in April 1928.
Pinch Hitting: For the month, Dodger pinch hitters were 6-for-34 with a double and three walks, hitting .176/.237/.206.
Runners in Scoring Position: In August, the Dodgers hit .230/.306/.390 with runners in scoring position in 248 plate appearances, with eight doubles and eight home runs.
They had a runner on third base with less than two outs 48 times in August, and got the runner home 22 times, or 45.8 percent (the entire National League scored 418 of 785 times, 53.3 percent).
They had a runner on second base with nobody out 36 times in August, and the runner advanced 22 times, or 61.1 percent (the entire NL advanced the runner 316 of 590 times, 53.6 percent).
Bases loaded: The Dodgers were 3-for-20 with the bases loaded in August, with a triple, hitting .150/.150/.250.
