Oklahoma City, Great Lakes, Ogden and DSL Dodgers One win, Tulsa, Rancho Cucamonga, and DSL Dodgers Two lose on Thursday.
Player of the day
Ogden has been hitting the ball well lately and today's Player of the day is part of that. DJ Peters not only was 4-for-4 with a home run, he scored five runs on Thursday. Peters is hitting .385/.475/.663 this season.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers took a late lead and defeated the Rainiers (Mariners) 6 -4 to split their four-game series. With two out in the eighth, the Dodgers got two men on and then O'Koyea Dickson hit a three-run home run to give the Dodgers a two-run lead.
Brock Stewart started and pitched six innings, giving up two runs and struck out five. After the Dodgers took the lead, Jacob Rhame and Matt West closed it out.
Will Venable hit his first home run as a OKC Dodger, a two-run shot. Drew Maggi had three hits, Micah Johnson and Jack Murphy each had two hits.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers dropped a 6-2 game to the Travelers (Angels). Tulsa scored their two runs in the first inning where they recorded four of the five hits they would have in the game.
However after Scott Barlow left after pitching five innings and giving up two runs (one earned), Chris Anderson and Michael Johnson each gave up two runs in their respective innings of work.
After the first inning, the Driller bats were pretty quiet, they only had one more hit and two walks in the last eight innings.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes saw the Storm score five runs in an inning and then they came back to score six runs in an inning to take the lead. But, a two-run home run for the Storm in the eighth gave them a 9-8 win over the Quakes.
Grant Holmes gave up seven runs in five innings of work. Yaisel Sierra pitched two scoreless innings.
Brandon Trinkwon was 4-for-5 with two RBI, Erick Mejia, Yusniel Diaz, Joey Curletta and Garrett Kennedy each had two hits.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons defeated the Cougars (Diamondbacks) 2-0 as three Loon pitchers combined for the shutout. Imani Abdullah pitched five innings, Shea Spitzbarth put up zeros in three more and Ivan Vietez got his third save.
Will Smith got two hits, Luke Raley had a hit and an RBI.
Rookie - Ogden
The Raptors scored 16 runs and nearly doubled up the Osprey (Diamondbacks) in their 16-7 win. Ogden pounded out 16 hits with DJ Peters going 4-for-4.
Mitchell Hansen had three hits, Ibandel Isabel tripled and homered as part of his three hit day.
Rookie - AZL Dodgers
The game between the AZL Dodgers and AZL Brewers was postponed because the field was too wet.
Dominican Summer League - Dodgers One & Dodgers Two
The Dodgers One beat the Rojos (Reds) 4-2 and the Royals beat the Dodgers Two 5-2.
