LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers have traded infielder Micah Johnson to the Braves for a player to be named or cash considerations, the team announced on Friday.
Johnson was designated for assignment on Tuesday, removing him from the 40-man roster to make room for Kenley Jansen.
In two brief stints with the Dodgers in 2016, one in April and one in September, Johnson played in seven games, going 1-for-6 with a run scored.
Johnson, who turned 26 in December, hit .261/.321/.356 with 23 doubles in 120 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, starting 78 games at second base, 20 games in left field, 14 games in center field, and even two starts at third base. Johnson also stole 26 bases in 37 attempts.
In the Pacific Coast League playoffs, Johnson provided spark at the top of the lineup, hitting .395 (15-for-38) with four walks, eight steals, and 10 runs scored in nine postseason games.
