The Desert Dogs won their third straight game on Monday as they silenced the Javelinas 5 to 1. Dodger catching prospect Chris O'Brien got things started early as his second inning double set up a couple of runs that would later score. The two bagger was the first hit on the young season for O'Brien, and his only base knock of the night. Later in the game Byron Buxton (Twins) hit a solo homer, and that was followed by a Yorman Rodriguez (Reds) single. That brought up Corey Seager who promptly knocked home Yorman with a single for his second RBI of the season. Brian Cavazos-Galvez, fresh off his 5 for 5 performance last week, also played in this game but he went 0 for 3 with a walk.
On the mound Glendale starter Alex Meyer (Twins) tossed 2 perfect innings, striking out 3 and recording the win. Six different relievers followed Meyer on the mound, including both Pedro Baez and Yimi Garcia. Baez punched out a pair in his flawless inning of work, while Garica struck out one in his 1-2-3 frame.
Coming up: The Desert Dogs will play again on Tuesday, with Michael Lorenzen (Reds) making his second start of the season. He'll be opposed by Jason Adam (Royals) of the Peoria Javelinas.
