AFL 10/15/13 recap: Jarret Martin wild in Desert Dog loss

Jarret Martin was tagged with the loss after he walked 4 batters in less than an inning of work

The Desert Dogs lost to the Javelinas 5 to 4 on Tuesday after Dodger prospect Jarret Martin couldn't find the plate in the 7th inning. Entering the game with the score tied at 4, Martin walked the first batter he faced but then quickly recorded two outs. Unfortunately that is where his success ended, however, as Jarret walked the next three to force in the eventual game winning run.

Earlier in the game starter Michael Lorenzen (Reds) also struggled a bit as he gave up 4 runs in 4 innings of work, but his offense fought back to get him off the hook. Eddie Rosario (Twins) went 3 for 4 with a double and a RBI while a trio of other batters drove in a run each.

Corey Seager, playing in his forth game of the season, went 0 for 3 at the dish with a walk and a run scored. Over 17 plate appearances Seager has 3 hits, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. It should also be noted that the shortstop made a couple of throwing errors in this game, one of them leading to an unearned run.

10/15/13 Glendale Desert Dogs Box Score

Coming up: Andrew Heaney (Marlins) will start for the Desert Dogs tomorrow as Glendale takes on Grayson Garvin (Rays) and the rest of the Rafters.
