The Desert Dogs lost a low scoring affair on Friday, falling to the Scorpions 2 to 1 in 10 innings. Scottsdale got the scoring started early with a solo homer in the 2nd off of starting pitcher Alex Meyers (Twins), the only run he allowed in 3 innings of work. Glendale didn't answer back until the 7th which is when Tucker Barnhart (Reds) connected on a RBI double, the only extra base hit of the game for the Desert Dogs. After that things stayed quiet until the 10th which is when Dodger reliever Mike Thomas started his second inning of work. After getting the first out of the frame, Thomas allowed 3 consecutive singles which ended the game in walk-off fashion.
Prior to Thomas entering the game, the Glendale relievers 5 scoreless innings. Yimi Garcia threw two of those frames and did not allow a run despite walking a pair and permitting a single. A couple of other Dodgers played in this game including top prospect Corey Seager who was coming off a big day at the plate. Unfortunately Seager's hot streak did not continue as he went 0 for 4 with a walk and a couple of strikeouts. Chris 'O Brien also participated, but only as a late inning replacement behind the plate as he didn't have an at bat.
