Beginning in November, Dodgers and White Sox prospects in the Arizona Fall League will play for th now Glendale Desert Dogs.

The Dodgers and White Sox will have a home team of sorts in the Arizona Fall League beginning in November as the Desert Dogs will play its home games at Camelback Ranch beginning with the 2013 season, it was announced on Saturday.

The Desert Dogs previously played at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, spring training home of the Athletics. Before he took over the Dodgers, Don Mattingly managed the Phoenix Desert Dogs in the AFL in 2010.

The six teams in the AFL are comprised of players from five designated teams, and with the Desert Dogs at Camelback Ranch the Dodgers and White Sox will feed their AFL-bound players to the Desert Dogs. The AFL runs for six weeks from the end of the World Series through Thanksgiving.

"We're excited to host some of the game's best prospects at Camelback Ranch-Glendale," said general manager Ned Colletti in a statement. "This will give our players the opportunity to continue to train at their home facility, which is one of the finest in baseball."

The Desert Dogs give the west side of the valley three teams, along with Surprise and Peoria, to go with three teams on the east side.

"The location adds a third team to the West Valley to bring geographic balance. As spring training tenants, Dodger and White Sox prospects assigned to our league will play for the Glendale Desert Dogs beginning this fall."

Current Dodgers who have played in the AFL include Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier, and Matt Kemp.
