LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers drafted right-handed pitcher Harlan Richter out of Bossier Community College in Louisiana with their 27th round pick in the 2014 MLB Draft on Saturday, pick No. 819 overall.

He committed to Arkansas and was even on the roster for their Cardinal-White fall game in 2011, but he never played for the Razorbacks. Credit this pick to Dodgers scout Matt Paul.
Richter put up a 2.50 ERA in eight relief appearances for Bossier as a sophomore in 2014 with 21 strikeouts in 18 innings and according to Matt Vines of the Shreveport Times has earned the nickname "Tiny" among his teammates.
Richter tweeted on Saturday upon hearing the news he was drafted.
