Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Right-handed pitcher Aaron Crow, the Washington Nationals' top pick, ninth overall, in this year's draft, has signed a deal with the Fort Worth Cats of the American Association.
The Nationals have until midnight (et) on Friday to work out a contract with Crow, the Big 12 pitcher of the year after going 13-0 for Missouri last season. Otherwise Crow will re-enter into the 2009 draft.
A story on MLB.com on Thursday indicated that Crow wants a major league contract, something that the team has not done in the past for their top picks, including current third baseman Ryan Zimmerman.
