Japenese phenom and rumored gyroball thrower Daisuke Matsuzaka has offically been posted by the Seibu Lions. This gives major league teams the chance to bid for the right to give him a major league contract. With the Yankees desperately searching for a starter, it could cost upwards of 30 million dollars to hold a negotation where Matsuzaka will hold most of the power (since I doubt any team would want to throw away 30 million).
Despite the high cost of the contract, it might be worth it to go for Matsuzaka. When was the last time a 26 year old ace became a free agent? The Dodgers have less financial constraints this offseason than in previous years thanks to the emergence of the farm system, so it could be worth taking a shot.
