David Eckstein is destroying everyone in the "most underappreciated player in baseball poll" which, in theory, should disqualify him from the race. Semantics aside, I got to wondering who was actually the most underrated player in baseball, where underrated isn't just a code word for "scrappy". I have two nominations:
Travis Hafner - The best hitter in baseball over the last couple years not named Pujols. Despite this, he gets no where near the love that David Ortiz gets, and has yet to make an All Star Team.
Carlos Guillen - He out OPSed Jeter and Tejada this year, and I don't think anyone noticed. I didn't until my friend was telling me how awesome his fantasy team was.
So, post your nominations, and I'll set up a vote in a few days.
