Open Thread: Game 36 - @ San Francisco Giants

If you like the Las Vegas 51's, this is the game for you. Left field, third base, and catcher will all be manned by denizens of Vegas tonight, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Broxton as well. It's nice to get a chance to see these guys, and they've looked pretty good so far. With Mueller struggling with the dings and the right handed Morris on the mound for the Giants, I think its a good idea on Grady Little's part to give Aybar a shot.

The biggest story, of course, is Bonds' quest for 714. I hate to be mean-spirited, but it would be a nice page in the Dodger-Giant hate book if we could keep Barry from hitting it over the next three games, forcing him to do it on the road. I'm just not in the mood to see him showered with praise for passing one of the most beloved sports figures in American history. There's no doubt he'll pass the Bambino, but I think a tepid Houston reception would suit the moment better. That said, my gut tells me he's going to do it against the Dodgers. Penny hasn't been fanning guys like he did earlier in the season, and the bullpen has been pedestrian at best. Either way, the drama will be great and the rivalry will be fueled.
