Open Thread: Game 92 - @St. Louis

Another tough loss for the Dodgers.  They had the opportunity to put the game away with bases loaded and one out in the eighth but couldn't get the hits to score any runs.  Hendrickson had a good outing.  He went 6-2/3 giving up 5 hits, one run, 2 walks with 4 strikeouts.

The Dodgers don't have a lot of power on the team but timely hitting can make up for that.  Hopefully the team slump with men in scoring position will be short-lived.
Fortunately, the Braves have been beating up on the Padres this weekend so the Dodgers have lost only ½ a game in the standings since the all-star break.

The team has asked Tomko to consider going to the bullpen when he comes off the DL.  He is receptive to the idea. Pitching in relief would allow him back sooner than he would be able to as a starter.

Izturis continues to impress with his play at third base.  He puts his all into every play.

I'm not big on the intentional walk but, if Pujols comes to the plate late in the game with the ability to tie or win the game, walk him if there is a place to put him

Go Blue.
