Open Thread: Game 88 - vs. San Francisco Giants

Yesterday's game was not a fun one to watch.  Lowe didn't seem to have his head in the game at all.  Perez did have a good outing allowing no hits in 1-1/3 innings.

The pitching was bad but it is hard to win when you leave 13 on base.  That's 32 left on base in the series.

Nomar now has a 20 game hitting streak.

Since batting seventh in the line up, Furcal is 9 for 19, has scored 3 runs and has 2 rbi and a couple of steals.  Hopefully he can keep that up.

Aaron Sele attempts to stop the bleeding today.  He has pitched better than expected this year.

With a win the Dodgers go into the all-star break at worst 2 games out of first.  San Diego was losing last I heard but it was only the second inning.  The wildcard could come from the West this year.

Note to Ned Colletti:  22 days to the trading deadline.  Think Pitching.

Go Blue.

The Pitching Match-up:

Aaron Sele (RHP, Dodgers) vs. Jason Schmidt (RHP, Giants)
