Signing Of The Year

The Nationals signed Ronnie Belliard to a minor league contract yesterday. Belliard has had an above average OPS for a second baseman every year since 2003. Now, he needs to fight Christian Guzman for a job.

I would have liked to see the Dodgers pickup Belliard for a couple years to be better version of Ramon Martinez this year and then give the Dodgers something to work with at second base next year, and apparently it wouldn't have cost too much. Oh well.
