Shea Hillenbrand has just signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers. He's a terrible, terrible player who even when he was "good" never had an OPS over .802, and couldn't play defense. In his career, he has walked unintentionally 121 times in 3,742 plate appearances. Judging by how he's performed the last season and a half, he's probably completely done.
The Dodgers do desperately need depth, and in a perfect world he might be a guy to call on if the Dodgers need a power bat off the bench, but I fear he might eventually get starts because he's Shea Hillenbrand. At least he'll bring the clubhouse closer together.
