Walking is Hard

Walking is hard
Hard
Down life's Rocky Road

Swinging at balls is my goal
No matter what the pitch
I'm going to put it in play
That is how I play

I've been sworn and slandered and ridiculed too
Had to struggle everyday my whole life through
Born with a peanut head, I've seen my share of the worse that this world can give
But I still got a dream and a burning rage to swing

Walking is hard
Hard
When they say
You have the power of a  girl

Walking is  hard
Hard
Dodger Thoughts may say
You're not the one

Even if you've been told time and time again
That you're always gonna lose and you're never gonna win
Gotta keep that vision in your mind's eye
When you're standing on top of a mountain high

You know when I was a boy
Folks used to say to me
"Take a Pitch Juan, don't make walking so hard"
And I used to tell them
Baseball's  a race, and I need to swing my piece
And I'll walk no matter the count
I ain't no Brett Butler?

Walking is Hard

I've been sworn and slandered and ridiculed too
Had to struggle everyday my whole life through
Born with a rag arm, I've seen my share of the worse that this world can give
But I still got a dream and a burning rage to swing

When I meet my maker on my dying day
Gonna look him in the eye and by god I'll say
I gave my word and my word was good
I never took a pitch and swung no matter what the count

Walking is  Hard
Walking is  Hard
Walking is  Hard
Walking is  Hard
