Here's some news from around MLB regarding former Dodgers, dubbed "Old Friends" from Vin Scully's penchant for referring to some ex-Dodgers as such.
Odalis Perez: signed a minor league deal to return to Washington. If he makes the big club, he will earn $850,000. Thanks to The Hardball Times and Fangraphs, here is a quick comparison of two pitchers:

Elmer Dessens: close to a minor league deal with the Mets. Dessens, who came to the Dodgers for a second time in exchange for Odalis Perez in 2006, could earn $600,000 in the majors, or $72,000 in the minors. Dessens has allowed 40 earned runs in his last 38.1 major league innings.
Daryle Ward: the lefthander, who hit .183 with an OPS+ of 9 in 2003 for the Dodgers, signed a minor league deal with the Reds.
Steve Garvey: the first baseman and 5th place hitter on our All-Time LA Dodger team was deemed not very cool by a junior high school in Lindsay, CA, who renamed the former Steve Garvey Junior High School Extended Day Program after someone new.
