At 1:10 PM today the Dodgers will take on the Diamondbacks in the rubber match of the three game series. A win would be huge in getting the Dodgers on track and making a statement that the Dodgers are the best team in the division.
Randy Wolf gets the start for the Dodgers and hopes to improve on his disappointing first start where he allowed 4 runs in 5.1 innings against the Padres, also taking the loss. After the start, Wolf criticized himself for not being aggressive. He said he was nibbling on the corners instead of challenging hitters to put the ball in play. Just do something about it today, Wolf.
Dan Haren gets the start for the D-Backs. The D-Backs skipped Max Scherzer's spot in the rotation because they had an off day last Thursday. Haren was the bad luck loser last time after allowing only 1 run over 7 innings. He is always tough so the Dodgers will need a good start from Wolf if they want to win today.
Juan Pierre will get the start in center field today in place of Matt Kemp. It's his first start of the season. Kemp will sit in favor of Andre Ethier because Haren is a righty so Torre wants to get more left-handed bats in the lineup. Here's todays lineup:
Furcal. SS
Hudson. 2B
Ramirez. LF
Loney. 1B
Martin. C
Ethier. RF
Blake. 3B
Pierre. CF
Wolf. LH
It's the same as yesterday's lineup except for Pierre in place of Kemp batting eigth. According to Tony Jackson, Torre at least considered having Pierre switch spots with the pitcher and bat ninth, but then decided against it.
Don't forget to guess today's score and winning pitcher before game time.
