Dodgers Look for Sweep Against the Rox

After yesterday's win the Dodgers now have a seven game winning streak, which they will look to extend at 1:05 PM today. The Dodgers will also look to get their second consecutive series sweep. Now that Manny has started to find his swing, the Dodgers will have a good chance to win even with a disadvantage in the starting pitching matchup.

James McDonald will be on the mound for the Dodgers, making just his second big league start after allowing 5 runs in 2.1 innings nine days ago against the Diamondbacks. He pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen earlier in the week. The hope is that he will be able to just eat some innings and give the blazing hot offense a chance to win the game.

McDonald's opponent will be Ubaldo Jimenez. JImenez throws gas and is probably happy to be in California after his hand froze in his first start against the Cubs. He has mostly held the Dodgers in check during his career although Matt Kemp is 4-10 with 3 extra base hits in his career against him.

Manny became the 11th active player to homer against every major league team yesterday when he homered off of Aaron Cook in the first innning. It was also his first homerun of the young season. Manny had this to say after the game, "I'm glad I got it out of the way. I didn't think about it because I knew it was a long season. I knew I'd come around so I was just being patient."

Joe Torre also took sole possession of sixth place on the all-time managerial wins list with the win on Friday. He currently has 2,160 wins. Lets hope he'll have 2,161 after today.
