Lambo goes yard - Adkins implodes - Minor League Update 4/18/09

Logan White isn't bulletproof and we only have to look at James Adkins his supplemental 1st round pick in 2007 to see that. Then again I doubt if anyone got a better fourth round pick then Andrew Lambo in the same draft. So just for fun, let's pretend Lambo was the supplemental first round pick and Adkins was the fourth round pick and we won't be quibbling with the results.

Isotopes:
Valentino Pascucci hit the first of many home runs to come this year but this one was a game winning grand slam in the 5th.Once Shawn Estes departed down 3 - 0 in the 4th the bullpen took over and kept the Isotopes in the game until Pascucci put the hammer down in the fifth. Strickland was again the best of the bullpen.

Chattanooga Lookouts:
James Adkins is quickly earning a demotion with his 2nd awful outing in a row as the Lookouts lost 10 - 5  but if you put aside his start we have plenty to like about this game. Andrew Lambo hit his first two home runs of the year proving that whatever Manny can do, so can Lambo. Leach picked up for Adkins and struck out four in two innings of work. Josh Bell picked up two more hits to bring his on base average up up to .476, good for 7th best in the Southern League.

Inland Empire 66ers
Tim Sexton did his job shutting out the quake for six innings but Rondon gave up two runs in the 7th and 66ers lost 2 - 0. Mattingly went 0-4 to end his six game hitting streak.

Great Lake Loons
Loons lose 4 - 2
