Can Martin Stretch His Walkoff Walk Into A Hot Streak?

While the current Dodger wearing number 55 may be struggling, a former 55 that didn't struggle much was Orel Hershiser, poker magnate who made his name with a long scoreless inning streak -- you may have heard about it. The batter who made the final out for the Padres to give Hershiser his 59th scoreless inning was Keith Moreland, who turns 55 today. If that isn't a good omen for Russell Martin, I don't know what is.

Randy Wolf faces off with Tall Chris Young in tonight's 7:10 start, a rematch of the second game of the season, a 4-2 Padre win.

Before last night's win against Jake Peavy and the Padres, the Dodgers had lost 26 straight games in which they got exactly three hits. The last such win was a 1-0 decision over Florida in May 2001.
