For the second time in five games, a Dodger outfielder has been scratched from the lineup due to an injury suffered during pregame warmups. Tonight, Manny Ramirez was a late scratch from the Dodger lineup after injuring his left foot. Xavier Paul joined the starting lineup, in right field, and Reed Johnson, who was penciled in to start in right field, moved to Manny's position of left field.
Manny was 15 for 30 with four doubles, three home runs, and ten walks against tonight's starter, Jon Garland. Before the game, Vin Scully said on the television broadcast that Manny's availability tonight as a pinch hitter was unknown. Ramirez did pinch hit in the fifth inning, and struck out with two men on base to end the inning.
On Saturday in San Diego, Andre Ethier fractured his right pinkie taking extra batting practice, and has since been placed on the disabled list.
