Jon Garland pitched a quality start but unfortunately for the Dodgers, Ubaldo Jimenez was much, much better, leading the Rockies to a 3-0 win at Dodger Stadium, preventing a Dodger sweep. Jimenez, who was winless in his last 12 starts dating back to last season, pitched a complete game shutout. It was by far the best game score of the season by an opposing starter against the Dodgers.

The Dodgers didn't even get a runner to second base tonight until the ninth inning, managing just four singles against Jimenez. But hey, the Dodgers outscoring their opponents 23-6 in their last four games is pretty good, right? Right?
Josh Lindblom made his major league debut, pitching the seventh inning, and allowed hits to the first two batters he faced, Jose Morales and Dexter Fowler, giving Colorado a first-and-third, no-out situation. However, two nice plays by James Loney to end the inning kept Lindblom's run column unblemished.
With a loss on Don Mattingly bobblehead night, the Dodgers fell to 1-1 this season on bobblehead giveaways, and 10-4 since the beginning of 2008.
The Dodgers have Thursday off, before beginning a 10-game road trip Friday night in Cincinnati. Hiroki Kuroda faces Bronson Arroyo in the opener. Now the only question is which reliever will be optioned to make room for Vicente Padilla.
