Kuroda Fires Blanks, Dioner Goes Deep To Give Dodgers Elusive Win

For the first time in six starts, Hiroki Kuroda didn't get saddled with a loss today.
For the first time in six starts, Hiroki Kuroda didn't get saddled with a loss today.

Hiroki Kuroda was great for seven innings and even though he didn't get the win, this was Kuroda's best game in over a month. Kuroda pitched seven scoreless innings, but received no run support, as the Dodgers extended their scoreless streak to 16 innings. However, Dioner Navarro changed all that with a solo home run in the eighth inning, giving the Dodgers a 1-0 win on Fathers Day.

It took six games, but the Dodgers finally got the first win of their 12-game homestand. The Dodgers next welcome Detroit to town, with Clayton Kershaw facing old enemy Brad Penny in the opener.

Condolences to third base coach Tim Wallach, whose father passed away on Saturday. There is never a good time for such news, but it's especially sad during Fathers Day weekend.

WP - Matt Guerrier (3-3): 3 up, 3 down

LP - Wilton Lopez (1-3): 1 2/3 IP, 1 hit, 1 run

Sv - Javy Guerra (2): 3 up, 3 down
