Red Patterson makes the cut - Dodger Minor League Recap 7/13/11

Minor League Player of the Day –24 year old Red Patterson made his fourth start for the Quakes a good one, going seven innings, giving up four hits, two runs, no walks, and nine punch-outs. Between the Loons and Quakes, Red has walked only 26 in 108 innings, so if command is what you are looking for, look no further.

AAA – All Star game, Travyon went 0 - 2, while Dana Eveland pitched one scoreless inning.

AA – Arizona's top pitching prospect (Jarod Parker) bested our up and coming Nathan Eovaldi 6 - 3. Nathan held his own for five shutout innings, then lost his command in the sixth walking two hitters with two outs. Scott Rice then came in and let everyone score. With six walks and only two punchouts it was Nathan's most unimpressive start of the year. Scott Van Slyke hit his league leading 31st double to drive in two of the Lookouts runs. Future Dodger 1st Baseman Goldschmidt hit his league leading 26th home run of the year.

HiA –Quakes won 4 - 2 behind the pitching of MLPOTD Red Patterson. Angelo Songco provided the offense with three hits, including his 29th double.

LoA – The Loons were two hit by one of the better pitching prospects in baseball Taijuan Emmanuel Walker as they fell 6 - 2. The Loons scored two runs in the 1st on a home run by Dean, but Walker then shut them down the rest of the way going all nine innings.
