The Dodgers take their show on the road on Wednesday for the first time this spring, battling the Oakland Athletics at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Old friend Manny Ramirez is in the lineup, hitting cleanup for the A's.
Manager Don Mattingly said he was excited to see the former Dodgers slugger, saying on Wednesday, "I've been watching Manny since he was 18 or 19 years old. I've always been amazed at the guy."
UPDATE: Manny has been scratched from the lineup with back stiffness, and has been replaced by Chris Carter.
Aaron Harang makes his Cactus League debut as a Dodger, and will be followed by a quartet of power arms, in Chris Withrow, Scott Elbert, Kenley Jansen, and Javy Guerra. Minor league pitchers Shawn Tolleson (the Dodgers 2011 minor league pitcher of the year, wearing number 92) and Francisco Felix (No. 87) are in uniform today for the Dodgers as well.
Tyson Ross starts on the mound for Oakland. He is scheduled to be followed by Fautino De Los Santos, Sean Doolittle, Brian Fuentes, and Neil Wagner.
