The Dodgers today traveled north and a bit west to Surprise Stadium to face the Texas Rangers in their second game away from Camelback Ranch so far this spring. Of the 10 Cactus League stadiums, Surprise is the most northwest of them all, roughly 14 miles from Dodgers camp.
Surprise Stadium has been the home of both the Rangers and Kansas City Royals since 2003. It is located in the Surprise Recreation Campus, across the street from the community center and aquatic center. Tickets range from $7 to $25.
Here is an off-center view of the center field entrance...
...but I entered down the right field line. Here is the the first base entrance...
The Rangers bullpen is just beyond the right field fence...
Here is a view from the field the right field foul pole...
..and one from the grass beyond the bullpen in right field:
The stadium has big wide-open concourses down each line, both uncovered...
...and covered...
Down the right field line, there was even a merry-go-round. Kind of makes you want a chicken sandwich followed by spinning around, right?
There is also the Double Play Diner on the right field side as well, another dining option.
The Rangers offices are in right field, behind this monument.
Here is another concession option near first base
And a souvenir shop behind home plate
Here is a shot of the scoreboard, which is in left field:
Capacity at Surprise Stadium is 10,714.
