In the 2000 season, the Dodgers lost their season series to the Pirates five games to four. However, since the beginning of the 2001 season, the Dodgers have absolutely owned the Buccos, with an astonishing 58-23 record in the equivalent of half a season.

At Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers have enjoyed even more success, with a 30-10 record including Tuesday's 2-1 triumph. The Dodgers have won five straight home series against the Pirates and 11 of their last 12 series in Los Angeles, also dating back to 2001.

Per Elias, the Dodgers are 1,099-958-13 all time against the Pirates.

Chad Billingsley gets the start Wednesday night, looking to follow up his 11-strikeout performance in San Diego. Erik Bedard makes his second start of the season for Pittsburgh, looking for more run support than in his last start, hung with the loss despite allowing just one run in seven innings.

Vin Scully is out again tonight with a bad cold. Like Tuesday, Charley Steiner and Steve Lyons will call the game on Prime Ticket, while Kevin Kennedy will join Rick Monday on the radio broadcast.
