The Dodgers announced Saturday that legendary broadcaster Vin Scully would return to the booth on Sunday to call the homestand finale against the San Diego Padres. Tonight will be the fifth straight game of the homestand Scully has missed while recovering at home from a bad cold.
For tonight's game, Charley Steiner and Steve Lyons will call the game on Prime Ticket, while Rick Monday and Kevin Kennedy will call the game on radio.
In other news of awesomeness, catcher Matt Treanor, who is starting his second game of the season on Saturday night, will use the A-Team theme as his at-bat music tonight.
Starting Lineups
The Padres placed Kyle Blanks on the disabled list with left straing to make room for pitcher Joe Wieland, who will make his major league debut Saturday night.
As for the infield configuration of reserves Jerry Hairston Jr. at second base and Adam Kennedy at third base, manager Don Mattingly said, "I think Adam is comfortable in both spots, and I know Jerry is most comfortable at second. I'd rather get a guy who is most comfortable in one spot playing there."
