The day started off with some fun with Mattingly and his "deception" of who would be starting on Tuesday. But now the deception is over and with LHP Michael Antonini going back to AAA tonight, the stage is set for the pitcher who will replace Ted Lilly in the rotation.

Tomorrow's game will feature two starters that were not in the building tonight but will be here tomorrow. Nate Eovaldi will make his 2012 debut against Mike Fiers. Milwaukee also had to put their All-Star candidate catcher Jonathan Lucroy on the 15-day DL with a boxer's fracture of the right hand.

Matt Kemp tweeted his safe landing in LA as the 9th inning began so unless something isn't right tomorrow, he will be back and in the lineup to face the freshly recalled Fiers. Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times tweeted that when Ethier saw Kemp in the clubhouse after the game, he said "We got some reinforcements."

Some other notes:

Elian Herrera's 9-game hitting streak ended tonight. Jerry Hairston continued his fine play with 2 hits and a walk (9 for 12 since his return off the DL).

Dee Gordon's short 5 game hitting streak ended tonight too.

For almost 2 weeks, the Giants hoped to gain ground on the Dodgers while Kemp was on the DL but tonight was the first time they gained any ground, the Dodgers did gain a half game and lead the Giants by 6.5 games going into play tomorrow night.
