Dee Gordon continued his post-Maury Wills success in the Dodgers series opener against the Giants on Monday night at AT&T Park. Gordon, who met with Wills for private instruction before Saturday's game, had two hits, a walk, and a stolen base, becoming the first Dodger with three straight games with two hits and a stolen base since Matt Kemp on April 8-10, 2011.
Jamey Wright struck out two in two scoreless innings, and Scott Elbert struck out two in his scoreless frame, making for a successful night for the Dodgers bullpen.
Ivan De Jesus played second base for the first time since June 1, and the planet didn't implode upon itself.
Unfortunately there was just that pesky little matter of the Giants scoring four runs in the first inning and three runs in the second inning off Nathan Eovaldi. Giants win round one, 8-0.
