Perhaps no other team is looking forward to the All-Star break like the Dodgers:
- Today's game marks the end of their second 20 games in 20 days stretch and 43 games in 45 days since the end of May.
- Hopefully today's game is the last one played without Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier on the active 25-man roster.
- Matt Kemp will miss his 51st game after playing 399 games in a row.
- Tony Gwynn is the only player in today's lineup that was on the 2011 Dodger 25-man roster at this time last year
Today's Pitching Matchup
Chris Capuano has been one of the pleasant stories of the first half, he won his last start in Arizona on May 21st, going 6 innings, striking out 5 while allowing 1 run. The last time I saw Trevor Bauer pitch in person was for UCLA in the 2011 NCAA playoffs at UCLA. The 21 year old has made the jump from UCLA to the Majors in less than a year and while he dominated in the minors, he did walk more than you would like (4.6/9IP) and that has continued in his first two career starts.
Starting Lineups
The Dodgers have homered in each of the first three games in this series, the last time the Dodgers homered in 3 straight games was May 19th - May 21st. The Dodgers have not homered in 4 straight games since homering in 8 straight games last September.
