Dodgers to play exhibition at Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Dodgers will travel to Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday, Mar. 28, to play an exhibition game against the Quakes, their Class-A affiliate in the California League. The two teams will play in a seven-inning game that will start at 6:05 p.m. PT at The Epicenter, the Quakes announced on Wednesday.

Tommy Lasorda will manage the Dodgers in Rancho Cucamonga, and he will have a split squad roster as the Dodgers will also open the Freeway Series at 7:05 p.m. PT that night in Anaheim against the Angels.

"As an organization, we are excited about strengthening our relationship with the Quakes and the Quakes' fan base," said Dodgers head of player development De Jon Watson. "In this game, the fans will have an opportunity to see not only our Major League players but some of our young rising stars at the best facility in the California League."

This season will be the Dodgers' third season with Rancho Cucamonga as their Cal League affiliate, after four years with the Inland Empire 66ers as their advanced Class-A squad. The Dodgers in September extended their affiliation agreement with Rancho Cucamonga through the 2014 campaign.

"This is an amazing opportunity to showcase our partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers," said Quakes vice president and GM Grant Riddle. "It will be exciting for Quakes' fans to see the Dodgers up close and personal, and to see them right here at The Epicenter will mark a once-in-a-lifetime experience!"

The Quakes also announced that batting practice will be open to the public for the Mar. 28 game.
