Cardinals NLCS roster remains the same as NLDS roster

St. Louis will use the same roster against the Dodgers as they did last round, with 13 position players an 12 pitchers.

The Cardinals finalized their NLCS roster before Friday morning's deadline, and will head into battle against the Dodgers with the same 25-man roster they used in the NLDS against the Pirates, per Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com. That means still no Allen Craig for St. Louis, but that was expected as the first baseman has been out since spraining his foot on Sept. 4.

"He's continuing to get better, so we don't know what it will look like going forward," manager Mike Matheny said Thursday at Busch Stadium. "But it looks like our roster will be the same."

The Cardinals will carry 13 position players and 12 pitchers. The St. Louis bullpen includes two left-handers in old friend Randy Choate and Kevin Siegrist.

Here is the 25-man roster for the Cardinals heading into the NLCS against the Dodgers:

Starting pitchers (4): Joe Kelly, Michael Wacha, Adam Wainwright, Lance Lynn

Relief pitchers (8): John Axford, Choate, Seth Maness, Carlos Martinez, Shelby Miller, Edward Mujica, Trevor Rosenthal, Siegrist

Catchers (2): Yadier Molina, Tony Cruz

Infielders (6): Matt Adams, Matt Carpenter, Pete Kozma, David Freese, Daniel Descalso, Kolten Wong

Outfielders (5): Matt Holliday, Jon Jay, Carlos Beltran, Adron Chambers, Shane Robinson
