The Desert Dogs lost to the Rafters 7 - 2 on Tuesday despite the presence of a five Dodger prospects. Catchers Chris O'Brien and Pratt Maynard (the DH in the game) were both in the lineup, but they combined to go 0 for 7. Outfielder Brian Cavazos-Galvez the other Dodger prospect in the lineup and while he went 2 for 4, both hits were singles and didn't have any impact on the game. BCG did steal his first base of the season, however.
Salt River scored all of their runs in the first four innings of the game, with starter Michael Lorenzen (Reds) allowing the first 4 scores over 3 frames. Jamie Walczak then gave up the next 3 runs in the 4th, but once he left the game he rest of the bullpen was outstanding. Two Dodger prospects were part of that dominance, starting with Jarret Martin who stuck out the side in the 5th. Later in the game Craig Stem tossed his third consecutive scoreless inning of the season, although he has yet to record a strikeout.
