The Desert Dogs outhit the Solar Sox on Wednesday, but unfortunately that didn't result in a win as Glendale fell to Mesa 3 - 2. The Solar Sox scored all of their runs early in the game, with Glendale starter Alex Meyer allowing a 2-run bomb in the second inning to Steven Souza (Nationals). Dodger prospect Yimi Garcia then tossed the next two frames and allowed a run in his final appearance of the season, although it was unearned thanks to a throwing error.

Speaking of errors, Corey Seager also had a throwing miscue in this game which resulted in his fourth E of the season. Seager also went 0 for 4 with a couple of strikeouts at the plate in what will most likely be his final AFL appearance. Not the best way to end an already poor year. Brian Cavazos-Galvez was also in the lineup and finished the game just 0 for 1 thanks to a couple of walks and a sacrifice fly. Chris O'Brien, hitting cleanup, went hitless in four at bats.

11/13/13 Glendale Desert Dogs Box Score

Coming up: The Desert Dogs play their final game on Thursday, and they'll send staff ace Andrew Heaney (Marlins) to the mound in the finale. He'll be opposed by Sammy Solis (Nationals) and the Solar Sox.
