With six off-season leagues in full swing, lets take a look at the Dodger prospects playing throughout the world. As always check here for all the Dodger off-season stats.

Australian Baseball League

James Baldwin is off to a solid start in Australia, going 5 for 10 in his first 3 games with a couple of stolen bases. He continues to struggle with contact, however, as he has struck out 4 times, and he also has yet to connect on an extra base hit. 1st baseman Chris Jacobs is 3 for 12 with a walk, while pitcher Blake Smith has allowed a run in 2 innings of work.

Dominican Winter League

The big news out of the Dominican Republic was the fact that Dee Gordon has been playing the outfield for the Tigres del Licey. After 3 games Gordon has 3 hits and a stolen base, and he had some words to say about his new position. The only other offensive player in the Dominican League is Rafael Ynoa who has just 2 hits in 15 at bats. On the mound both Carlos Frias and Angel Castro have thrown well in their limited workload.

Mexico Winter League

There isn't much news out of Mexico as only outfielder Matt Angle and pitcher Juan Noriega are playing south of the boarder. Angle has been average at best as is hitting .260 with 21 strikeouts through 19 games, while Noriega has performed very well with just 2 runs allowed over 11 appearances (10.1 innings).

Puerto Rican Winter League

While this league has just barely gotten started, there are some interesting names to discuss including right hander Matt Magill. In his only start Magill has struggled to the tune of 3 hits, 3 walks, and 4 runs over 2.1 frames, although he also punched out a trio. Jesmuel Valentin is the Dodgers most prominent offensive player in the league, but he yet to receive an official at bat.

Venezuelan Winter League

Joc Pederson is the talk of the Venezuelan Winter League as he has an OPS of over 1.000 despite a .258 average. While his is racking up the strikeouts with 26 in 21 games, he continues to walk at an astonishing rate as he has received 29 free passes. He also ranks 4th in the league with 5 homers. Fellow outfielder Nick Buss is also performing relatively well with a .273 average and 6 RBI's in 8 games. On the mound Red Patterson has been a workhorse with 23.1 innings pitched, posting a 3.47 ERA and striking out 18 in the process.

Arizona Fall League

I write about the AFL every day so I won't go into too much depth here, but I wanted to at least touch on the top prospects for the Desert Dogs. Corey Seager, the youngest player in the league, has struggled throughout the AFL season, and while he hit his first homer a few days ago, he is still batting just .160 with 18 strikeouts in just 13 games. His teammates haven't been much better as Brian Cavazos-Galvez, Pratt Maynard, and Chris O'Brien are all hitting below .210. In terms of pitching Yimi Garcia has been the best of the bunch as he has posted a solid 3.12 ERA thus far, with a 1.04 WHIP and a .200 batting average against. Jarret Martin has had trouble finding the strike zone, while Michael Thomas has been mediocre in limited opportunities.
