Pitchers and catchers report for the Dodgers on Tuesday, Feb. 12, with their first workout one day later. Position players report on Friday, Feb. 15, with the first full squad workout to be held on Feb. 16. There are a few uniform number notes:
- Don Mattingly will return to No. 8, after wearing 88 to end last season after the acquisition of Shane Victorino.
- Justin Sellers will switch from 12 to 72, with new hitting coach Mark McGwire taking No. 12.
- New additions to the coaching staff: Bullpen coach Chuck Crim will wear No. 50, while assistant hitting coach will wear No. 52.
- Aaron Harang will switch from 44 to 41, with non-roster invitee Dallas McPherson taking No. 44.
- J.P. Howell took No. 56 from Stephen Fife, who will switch to 59.
- Yasiel Puig in his first spring training will wear No. 66.
Minor league camp opens in full on Mar. 5 when pitchers and catchers report. All others report on Mar. 11.
The Dodgers first spring training game is on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 12:05 p.m. PT against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch.
