World Baseball Classic semifinal: Hanley Ramirez vs. Kenley Jansen

The Dodgers have two major league players remaining in the World Baseball Classic and both could face off directly on Monday night at AT&T Park. The Dominican Republic will face off against The Netherlands in the WBC semifinal matchup in San Francisco, with a potential showdown looming between Hanley Ramirez and Kenley Jansen.

The winner of Monday night's game will face Puerto Rico on Tuesday night in the championship game.

Jansen was a late addition to The Netherlands squad, as he flew with the team from Phoenix to San Francisco on Friday night. Jansen on the roster replaced pitcher Jonatan Isenia, who had a strained right elbow.

Ramirez has been with the Dominican Republic team since Mar. 4, and has played in every game so far. Though he is hitting just .176, two of his three hits were home runs - a pair of long ones - to go along with six walks, so his WBC batting line looks a lot like the latter stages of hitting coach Mark Mcgwire's playing career, at .176/.375/.529.

Jansen and Ramirez have faced one another twice, both in 2011 when Ramirez was with the Marlins. Jansen struck out Ramirez on Apr. 26, 2011 in Florida, then walked him at Dodger Stadium on May 28, 2011.

Ramirez is the designated hitter Monday night for the Dominican Republic, batting fifth.

But Ramirez and Jansen aren't the only Dodgers who could see action on Monday, as a pair of minor leaguers adorn the rosters as well. Right-handed pitcher Angel Castro is on Team Dominican Republic, and Netherlands catcher Dashenko Ricardo was just signed to a minor league deal by the Dodgers.
