The Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Albuquerque has hired a new play-by-play voice, and it is someone familiar to Dodgers fans. Josh Suchon was introduced as the new radio voice of the Isotopes on Wednesday, per both Chris Jackson of the Albuquerque Examiner and Evan Chavez of I Bleed Dodger Blue.

"We are thrilled to have a broadcaster of Josh's caliber calling Isotopes games," Isotopes general manager John Traub said in a statement. "He brings an enthusiastic and knowledgeable voice to our broadcasts and is truly a Major League announcer. He is well-liked within the Dodgers organization and his diverse background will certainly be a bonus to calling our games."

Suchon was the co-host of DodgerTalk on KABC 790 from 2008-2011, including the first three years with Ken Levine and the final year with Joe Block. But when the Dodgers moved to 570 Fox Sports LA prior to the 2012 season, DodgerTalk went with new co-hosts Kevin Kennedy and David Vassegh, and have since added Jorge Jarrin.

Suchon in addition to his pre- and post-game work on Dodgers broadcasts also has play-by-play experience, calling men's and women's college basketball, college softball, as well as high school football and volleyball. Suchon also called minor league baseball games for the Modesto Nuts and Watertown Indians, and also has called Dodgers spring training games.

Albuquerque had a vacancy in the radio booth after Robert Portnoy, the Isotopes play-by-play announcer for the last seven seasons, left for a local ESPN affiliate in February.

In the experienced Suchon, the position was filled not only with an experienced and knowledgeable voice, but someone with Dodgers ties as well. Suchon's book ,"Miracle Men: Gibson, Hershiser and the Improbable 1988 Dodgers," will be available on May 1.

The Isotopes begin their 2013 season on Apr. 4 vs. Iowa.
