Shawn Tolleson placed on DL, Josh Wall recalled from Triple-A

Tolleson has a lower back strain and was placed on the disabled list retroactive to Apr. 13.

The Dodgers made a roster move prior to their game Monday night against the Padres, shuffling a pair of right-handed pitchers in the bullpen. Shawn Tolleson was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain, and Josh Wall was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Tolleson was recalled on Friday when Zack Greinke went on the disabled list, and pitched in the series opener against the Diamondbacks. Tolleson came in with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth inning with the Dodgers trailing 1-0, but he walked both hitters he faced to force in two inherited runs.

The move was retroactive to Saturday, meaning the earliest Tolleson could be activated from the disabled list is Apr. 28.

Wall, who was among the final roster cuts of spring training, had a 2.08 ERA in four games with the Isotopes with one save, five strikeouts and three walks in 4⅓ innings.

The move was announced literally right before first pitch and at the time Wall was en route to Dodger Stadium, on Jackie Robinson Night. The best part of the announcement came from Dodgers PR man Jon Chapper, who said "Wall will be in uniform tonight, wearing number 42."
