Dodgers, Orioles rained out: Doubleheader Saturday

After waiting 11 years to return to Baltimore, what's one more day to wait?

Joy R. Absalon-USA TODAY Sports

Well, so much for the Dodgers and Orioles getting a game in amidst the rain on Friday night in Baltimore. Friday night's game has been postponed, and both teams will play a split doubleheader on Saturday.

The first game will be at 10:05 a.m. PT, and will feature the pitching matchup we were going to see on Friday night, with Hyun-jin Ryu facing Jason Hammel. The second game will be at 4:05 p.m. PT as planned, and will feature Josh Beckett facing Wei-Yin Chen, per Rich Kubatko of MASN.

Both games will be televised on Prime Ticket.

The last time the Dodgers played a doubleheader was last year, when they played a pair of games on Sep. 19 in Washington D.C. against the Nationals, though that was a traditional doubleheader.

Also, in case you missed it, Hanley Ramrez had an encouraging batting practice session on Friday in Baltimore, and he is eying his bobblehead day, Apr. 30, as his target return date, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. That would be a little under three weeks ahead of his scheduled rehabilitation.

And since you can't have a rain delay with the Orioles without mentioning Rick Dempsey...
