The Dodgers open a six-game homestand on Friday night against the Brewers, and have Juan Uribe in the starting lineup at third base for the second consecutive day.
Uribe drove in an insurance run that proved to be essential in the ninth inning of Thursday's 3-2 win in New York against the Mets, and he also walked three times. The single snapped an 0-for-27 slump by Dodgers third baseman that dated back to Apr. 16. Uribe got the last hit as well.
It has been a bizarre April for Uribe, who is hitting just .190 but is tied for the team lead with two home runs and has eight walks in 29 plate appearances. Uribe's on-base percentage is .414 and his slugging percentage is .490.
Friday marks the sixth consecutive game not started by Luis Cruz, who is hitting just .087/.122/.087 (4-for-46) this season.
