Yasiel Puig pursued by Jay-Z, Roc Nation agency, per report

If Yasiel Puig hit .220/.344/.299 with 10 doubles & one home run over his next 195 plate appearances, he’d match Freddie Freeman.

It seems like everyone these days wants a piece of Yasiel Puig, the Dodgers rookie sensation vying to become just the sixth rookie in franchise history to be named an All-Star. The latest big name in baseball is being pursued by the latest big name in sports agency, as Jay-Z is trying to woo Puig per Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

Puig is currently represented by Jaime Torres, who secured the 22-year-old a seven-year, $42 million contract with the Dodgers in June 2012. Puig has been entertaining marketing agencies as well, per Passan:

While Puig has spoken with at least one more marketing agency in New York, the prospect of his joining Roc Nation as a client covering both baseball contracts and marketing remains a possibility, sources said.

Jay-Z's Roc Nation agency has reached out across all sports, signing Robinson Cano of the Yankees, Kevin Durant of the NBA's Okalhoma City Thunder and Victor Cruz of the New York Giants.
