Yasiel Puig back in Dodgers lineup, Carl Crawford scratched with back stiffness

Crawford is 2-for-25 with two walks since his return from the disabled list. Puig has played in every game since his major league debut on June 3.

The Dodgers got mixed news before their game against the Rockies on Friday at Dodger Stadium. Yasiel Puig, who aggravated his left hip on Thursday, is back in the starting lineup, in right field. But left fielder Carl Crawford, who was in the starting lineup Friday, was scratched with lower back stiffness.

Skip Schumaker, who missed the last two games while serving his suspension for the June 11 brawl against Arizona, will instead start in left field and bat leadoff in place of Crawford.

Crawford was activated from the disabled list a week ago Friday after he missed 30 games with a right hamstring strain. He is just 2-for-25 (.080) with two walks since his return and has seen his batting average plummet from .302 to .274.

Puig left after seven innings on Thursday after aggravating his left hip, which he said has been sore since colliding with the right field wall at Coors Field on July 3. Puig has played in every game since his June 3 call up, and has started all but one of his 36 games entering Friday.
