Minor League Player of the Day – Miguel Sulbaran (Great Lakes) 7 IP, 3 hits, 2 walk and 2 strikeouts. Sulbaran won his 6th game and despite his low strikeout total in this game, he averaging over 8 strikeouts per 9 innings overall.
AAA – In a game that featured 6 lead changes, the Istopes took the last one and defeated the Cubs 9 - 7. Jonathan Sanchez made his 5th start and went 5.1 IP giving up 5 runs, 9 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Peter Moylan and Javy Guerra pitched the 8th and 9th, the former getting the win and Guerra got the save. Elian Herrera, Ian Stewart and Brian Barden each had 3 hits; Justin Sellers and Nick Buss each had 2 hits.
AA – A forgettable game in every way, the Lookouts lost again to the Braves 7 to 1. Garrett Gould pitched well enough in his first AA start, 5 innings, 2 runs, no walks and 4 strikeouts. But the other two Lookout pitchers, Michael Thomas and Hector Nelo gave up 5 runs in the other 3 innings. With Joc Pederson in New York for the Futures Game, the rest of the offense was off too, Jan Vasquez had 2 of the 4 Lookout hits.

Carlos Frias pitched great, going 6.2 innings and giving up just one run, 6 hits, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Joel Lima was the winning pitcher and reclamation project Carlos Marmol overpowered some of the minor leaguers (striking out the side), walking one and allowing a solo home run while getting the save.
LoA – The Loons shutout the Bees (Angels) 5 - 0. Player of the Day Miguel Sulbaran was the star of the game, pitching the first 7 shutout innings. Justin Chigbogu went 1 for 5 and he is still hitting .361 at Ogden. Pat Stover and Gerson Nunez each homered. One note, Jesmuel Valentin is still doing well recognizing pitches but he continues to hit in a little bad luck with a .231 BABIP. Hopefully he will put together a good July and August.
