Minor League Player of the Day – Oscar Cruz (DSL) 3 IP, 1 hit, 0 Runs. With just one game there weren't many options for this award, but this does allow me to highlight Cruz who has been lights out so far this season. The 18 year old has thrown 16.2 innings over 6 appearances this season and has allowed just 1 run on 4 hits. His walk to strikeout ratio could be better as he has 6 walks vs. 12 K's, but overall he's been pretty remarkable in his professional debut.

DSL – The Mariners put up an 8 spot in the 7th inning to down the Dominican Dodgers 8 to 5 on Tuesday. This game was actually scoreless prior to the big 7th inning outburst thanks to 3 shutout innings by starter Oscar Cruz followed by 3 more scoreless frames from Hector Rodriguez. Elou Jean and Diomailin Rosario gave up all 8 runs in the 7th, however, despite allowing just 4 hits in the inning. The Dodger offense didn't come out of it's shell until late in the game when Ibandel Isabel connected on a solo homer in the bottom of the 7th. Deivy Castillo had two hits including a triple while Michael Medina continued his recent hot streak by going 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI's.
Coming up – Five of the seven clubs will be in action tomorrow, and the highlight will be Loons starter Chris Anderson who was the Dodgers 2013 1st round pick. Freddie Cabrera is scheduled to make his first start of the year for the Quakes after 23 relief appearances, and Scott Barlow will be taking the mound for the Raptors.
