Yasiel Puig, Carl Crawford back in lineup for Dodgers vs. Nationals

Puig and Crawford are making their first starts since July 12 and July 9, respectively for the Dodgers.

A full four days of rest during the All-Star break did the Dodgers good, it appears, as outfielders Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford have returned to the starting lineup for their opening game against the Nationals on Friday night in Washington.

Yasiel Puig has been dealing with a sore left hip since running into the right field wall at Coors Field on July 3. He aggravated the injury against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium, which caused him to leave two games early and be held of the starting lineup in two other games.

Puig on the season is hitting .391/.422/.616 with eight home runs in 38 games, though since literally hitting the wall in Denver has hit just .262/.304/.286 with one extra-base hit, a double, in 10 games.

Crawford is making his first start since July 9, as he was limited to reserve duty with back stiffness. Since returning from the disabled list after a right hamstring injury, Crawford is just 2-for-26 (.077) with two walks, and both hits are bunt singles.

On the season Crawford is hitting .273/.332/.421 with 36 runs scored in 59 games.
