The Southern League All-Star Game will have a decidedly Dodgers flair, as Joc Pederson and Zach Lee are among the eight players from Double-A Chattanooga named to the North roster. Joining those two are starter Ross Stripling, relievers Yimi Garcia, Hector Nelo and Luis Vasquez, and infielder Rafael Ynoa.
The All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 17 at Bragan Field in Jacksonville.
Pederson, 21, is hitting .300/.389/.515 with 13 home runs, 18 doubles, 59 runs scored and 37 RBI in 80 games, and has stolen 25 bases in 28 attempts.
Lee, 21, is 6-5 with a 2.95 ERA in 17 games, including 16 starts, and has 80 strikeouts and 24 walks in 88⅓ innings.
Stripling, 23, has only pitched 50 innings with the Lookouts, but the 2012 fifth-round pick is 5-1 with a 2.34 ERA with 47 strikeouts and only six walks.
Garcia, 22, had a similar ratio as Stripling but out of the bullpen, with 48 strikeouts and six walks to go with his 3.13 ERA in 37⅓ innings.
The switch-hitting Ynoa, 25, is hitting .263/.339/.377 with 40 runs scored.
Nelo, 26, has a 2.27 ERA out of the bullpen with 32 strikeouts and 17 walks in 42⅔ innings.
Vasquez, 27, walked 22 in 24 innings but was named to the All-Star team thanks to a 2.62 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
Rob Rasmussen, acquired from Houston for John Ely in December, was also named to the All-Star team but has since been promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque. The 24-year-old was 3-3 with a 2.42 ERA with 60 strikeouts and 20 walks in 63⅓ innings.
Southern League All-Star rosters were voted on by league managers, general managers, radio broadcasters and print media.
